From Our Garden to the Recipe Barn
Around here, we grow it, pickle it, taste it, and tell you what really happened along the way. Sometimes an experiment becomes a keeper. Sometimes the beans refuse to cooperate. And every once in a while, a canning jar loses its bottom.
That’s okay. Around Pickle Country, it’s all kind of a big dill.

Fresh From the Recipe Barn
Our First Pickle Country Experiments
We started with garden-fresh okra and yard-long beans, several dill and garlic combinations, a lemon experiment using a Pickle Country blend of spices and two commercial pickling spice blends, and one ambitious attempt to coil an entire yard-long bean into a jar.
Some things worked. Some things didn’t. One jar definitely didn’t. Now the surviving batches are resting until taste-test day. (suspense music…lol)
What’s Growing at Pickle Country?
The Pickle Patch decides a lot of what happens around here. Right now that means okra, yard-long beans, and plenty of ideas for what should go into the next jar.
As the garden changes, so will the Recipe Barn.
